“I Signed the Petition”  by Mahdi Fleifel. [10:31]

Immediately after a Palestinian man signs an online petition, he is thrown into a panic-inducing spiral of self-doubt. Over the course of a conversation with an understanding friend, he analyses, deconstructs and interprets the meaning of his choice to publicly support the cultural boycott of Israel.

“Proximity Study (Sight Lines)” by Elizabeth M. Webb (ATL) [5:40]

Proximity Study (Sight Lines) is an attempt to measure closeness despite temporal distance. Webb’s grandfather (whom she never met) worked as a longshoreman on the Brooklyn waterfront. Webb filmed the docks on 16mm film and rowed in the channel between camera and subject. The physical film print trailed behind, reaching to bridge the distance.

“Olive” is a short documentary that follows Olive Hagemeier, an energetic woman, on her daily routine of salvaging, repackaging and redistributing food, and occasional other types of “waste”, across Atlanta, GA.
